Group training

Coburg Harriers offers group training for all members to improve their fitness, reach their goals and have fun. Regular training sessions are held throughout the year on weeknights and include middle distance, sprints and throws. We also offer specific training programs from time-to-time (e.g. running for beginners, morning heart starters).

Female only group

Return to Running

Getting back to running after injury or a break can be difficult but Coach Tim Holloway offers an accessible pathway back to your best with his return to running program. Please contact Tim Holloway for more information.

Sprints training
Sprints training is offered on Tuesday and Thursday nights, guided by veteran Gift runner, Benny Tancredi. Please contact coach Benny Tancredi for more information.

Throws training
Throws training is offered in small groups on Tuesday and Thursday nights by arrangement.

Middle Distance Group 
A middle distance / endurance group coached by Brian Delaney meets at the Harold Stevens Athletic Track on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6pm. Training includes interval work, drills, and sometimes incorporates the local parkland hills. Runners of all abilities are welcome. Please contact coach Brian Delaney for more information. Bookiings are no longer required but it is essential that attendees Check-In using the Services Victoria App or QR code or record their names manually.

Junior Development Squad

Bridging Little Athletics and open competition, coach David Woods offers an introduction to structured squad training for junior Harriers members (up to 21yr olds) and Little athletics members (11+) on Mondays (Summer only) and Wednesdays (Winter and Summer) 6pm-7pm. Masters Athletes aged 30-100+ plus working towards state, national and international championships. Bespoke training programs adjusted for distance, age and recovery needs with progressive strength and conditioning work to support. Pre-masters needing a pre-habilitation approach to training are also welcome.

Morning Heart Starters
Led by club President and coach Michael Carney this will be a light and easy early morning session at the track for all abilities.
When: 7am Monday, Wednesday and Saturdays for 45 minutes.
