1984 - Coburg Railway Centenary 100km Victorian Championship A special once off Coburg Railway Centenary 100km Victorian Championship run was held on 9th September 1984. The course was around the westerly carpark of the Coburg Shopping Centre, with each lap being 500m. Cliff Young was the crowd favourite and is shown centre stage in this photo.

1968 Olympian Raelene BoyleRaelene Boyle was one of Australia's best-ever female sprinters. In the 1968 Olympics, her first international at only 17 years of age, she finished second in the 200m, 4th in the 100m and 5th in the 4x100m relay. From then on, she was in every Australian team until 1982. She competed in 4 Olympics, with her two silvers in 1972 (100m and 200m) a wonderful performance against the drugs tainted East Germans.

This photo shows her winning the 400m run (time 51.26) in the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane.

1947 - Harold Stevens sets a SA U19 1 Mile RecordHarold Stevens scored a clever win in the Under 19 Mile. Teamwork by brother Norm was a big factor, Norm took the lead for about a lap and a half when Colin Cooper (SA) ran to the front. Almost immediately Harold challenged and led until 300 yards from home, when Cooper ran to the front leaving Harold in the box seat to finish over Cooper and win by a good yard. Time: 4 minutes 34.3 seconds - South Australian Under 19 Record.May 01, 2020
