Coburg Venue VMA

The Victorian Masters Athletic Club (VMAC) conducts athletic meetings for “masters” athletes across a number of venues on a weekly basis.

The program for these meetings generally includes sprints, middle distance and distance events. Middle distance or distance events may double as walk events or separate walk events may also be included on the program. Venues may also include field, road and cross country events.

The VMAC also conducts State championship events and is affiliated with Australian and World bodies which conduct Australian and World Championships respectively. Events at VMAC championships are conducted in 5 yearly age groups, commencing from age 30.

Coburg Venue

The Coburg venue aims to provide a varied program throughout the year. The yearly program is divided into six, two monthly programs, each built around a theme for those two months. The venue usually conducts four events per night, a short sprint, a middle distance event, a long sprint and a distance event. The middle distance often combines two distances one for runners and one specifically for walkers. Similarly the distance event gives a choice of two or more distances. The venue encourages those who prefer to walk to walk in any of the events. Events may be varied to include handicaps, estimated times, time trials etc. Relays and team events may also be run.

Supper is available each night.

The Coburg venue is affiliated with the Coburg Harriers and the track and facilities are provided through the courtesy of Coburg Harriers.

Membership of the Victorian Masters Athletic Club is encouraged as is membership of the Coburg Harriers.
