The Jegster Report
The Half Marathon was a clear cut affair. Class marathon runner Tristan Boyle (ranked 63 in Australia last year) won easily with a quality time over what is one of the toughest half marathon courses going around. Bill Dooley of East Malvern was second with Damien Pratt from Brunswick West third

In the women's event, a very fast time was recorded by Louisa Hamilton-White. An interesting case, Hamilton-White was a cyclist of some note, but in the last few years has concentrated on running, with a victory in the 10 km Sporting Chance Christmas Fun Run last December. Second was Coburg Harriers member but Shepparton based Deanne Nobbs and in third was Jenny McFarlane of Coburg

The 6 km event was very keenly contested. The winner did it easily. Tom Avram from Shepparton travelled down with the eventual second placed female of the half marathon event Deanne Nobbs. The battle for the minor placings was hot. In second place was Coburg fun run regular Darren Smith of Eltham. Just behind him in the home straight was club member Jay Blake who only just managed to hold off Brendan King of Caroline Springs by just two seconds!

The next Coburg Harriers fun run is being held on 13 August from 9:00 am with a 6 km/12 km
