2008 COBURG HARRIERS TRIVIA NIGHT HAROLD STEVENS ATHLETICS FIELD SATURDAY, 16 AUGUST 2008 Well done to everyone who attended one of this year's major fundraisers for the club. A disappointing turn out saw Coburg Harriers fill just three tables, with a table from Coburg Little Athletics Centre fill a fourth
It was a great battle all night with the Chris Harrap table going neck and neck with the Little Aths table. At the end of the night, both tables were tied on points with only the Famous Faces round to be tabulated, In the end, the Little Aths table won the evening and took home the fabulous prizes
Not far behind was the Rohan King tabl, while the Tony Bowman team finished in fourth place, but came home with a rush
A number of games were played on the night. In the coin toss, Brian Delaney had a speculative toss first up and with that very first throw got very close to the top shelf bottle of port. Despite many, many attempts no-one could dislodge Delaney's coin or get closer to the bottle and the MC took the prize
And in the four corners game, it was intensely competitive and in the end your host had to keep upping the cost of re-entering the round. Once we had got to $10 to re-enter, we had to close off any further chances and Kathleen Marsh from the Little Aths table won the movie voucher, kindly donated by Kylie Parris
The dutch auction proved a huge success and we were again indebted to all those who donated prizes
Thank you to Brian Delaney who again did a superb job as MC, to Kylie Parris who laboured for hours over the right questions and drove her parrner mad in her search for the perfect trivia question. Thank you to George Goode and the Dalgleish family for making donations, and to Bernie Goggin, Jackie Steel, Neville Wilson, Jo Delaney, Philip van Dueren and Johanna Hayes for donating dutch auction prizes. Apologies to anyone I have missed there
And finally thank you to those who attended and made the evening such a huge success with several hundred dollars raised for the club, which relies upon these funds to assist in the various programs we run
