The first 24-hour non-stop track run held in Melbourne is planned by the Coburg Harriers Athletic Club on October 16 and 17. The 24 entries will be divided into three groups of eight runners, who will divide the time. The runners hope to cover 260 miles in the 24 hours and set up a record for other clubs to attempt. A number of prominent marathon runners are among the entries. The race will be held on the McDonald Reserve, Coburg, starting at 6 pm on October 16.
